OHSA Called to Investigate Construction Accident Death
This week Friday, officials finally released the name of a worker who was killed during a construction accident. Police say that the 39-year-old man was seriously wounded at a drilling site just outside of Aspen, Colorado.
According to reports, emergency crews arrived at the scene of the accident only to find that the victim was already dead. Officials later announced that the worker had become entangled in the poll of a rock-drilling machine while working at a construction site that was reinforcing walls at a condominium complex.
Anytime a death occurs on-the-job, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration must conduct an investigation. News sources say that OHSA responded immediately by reviewing the scene of the accident and interviewing other workers and witnesses. A spokesperson with the group said that it may take months to conclude what may have led to the accident.
